Imtech

Imtech is a leading provider of technical services, specialising in the design, installation and maintenance of electrical, mechanical and IT installations.

Their story

Imtech Belgium delivers bespoke technical solutions.

Imtech works with Belgian organisations and companies, with a strong focus on complex technical projects that require bespoke solutions. Its multi-technical approach provides solutions for every technical service on a project.

With integrated project management and tailor-made solutions, Imtech answers the growing demand for innovative installations in Smart Buildings.

Imtech Belgium has more than 650 employees and offices in Anderlecht (head office), Temse, Wommelgem, Alken, Naninne and Koszalin, which lets the company deliver fast, personalised service.

Smart solutions from GeoDynamics let companies like Imtech run attendance registration almost entirely automatically.

The challenge

Keeping 800 employees informed and registering them in advance was a major challenge.

On 1 April 2014 Belgian legislation on digital attendance registration came into force, with an enormous impact on companies in the construction sector. From that date, every worker on a construction site worth more than €500,000 had to register before setting foot on site. The law is designed to counter social dumping, a problem the Belgian government had wanted to tackle for years.

Imtech Belgium, one of the top five technical services companies in the country, regularly works on sites that fall under this legislation. Keeping its 800 employees up to date with these registration requirements was an enormous challenge, as was making sure they were registered in advance.

Philippe Van Samang, Business Process Engineer at Imtech, was given the task of finding a solution that let workers register themselves without Imtech losing the overview.

The solution

GeoDynamics gave Imtech automatic attendance registration through activity panels and personal badges, for full NSSO compliance.

GeoDynamics was involved in the project run by the NSSO, Belgium’s National Social Security Office, from the very start, and was one of the first suppliers with an automatic link to the NSSO. With a number of smart solutions, we help companies like Imtech run attendance registration almost entirely automatically.

Because Imtech was already using the GeoDynamics activity panels, it decided to use them for attendance registration as well. On top of what the panels deliver for job costing and for automating payroll administration (including the mobility allowance), Imtech is now assured of trouble-free CheckInAtWork registration, the mandatory Belgian on-site attendance declaration. Every worker has a personal badge to record when they start and stop work.

It works simply: every worker carries a badge holding the information the NSSO requires. On arrival at the site, they swipe the badge in front of the panel and enter the site code. That data is sent to the GeoDynamics servers in real time, which then forward it to the NSSO.

“Thanks to GeoDynamics, we handle a complex piece of legislation like attendance registration effortlessly.
It puts no extra pressure on our administrative team, and as a company we can keep focusing on our real job.”
