Vuylsteke – Eiffage

Vuylsteke-Eiffage works across Flanders in a range of construction segments, including healthcare, car parks and apartment buildings, and is known for its technical expertise and its focus on quality.

Their story

Vuylsteke-Eiffage, founded in 1969, delivers turnkey solutions for construction projects.

Vuylsteke-Eiffage is a family business with a history going back to 1969. Founder Chris Vuylsteke started a contracting business in Ghent that year, which moved to Meulebeke twelve months later.

In 2016, Vuylsteke expanded its activities by joining the French construction group Eiffage. That move allowed the company to strengthen its presence in West Flanders and broaden its range of services.

Today, Vuylsteke-Eiffage offers turnkey solutions for a wide range of construction and renovation projects.

The challenge

Vuylsteke-Eiffage was looking for a straightforward wage registration system built for the construction sector.

The rapid growth of Vuylsteke-Eiffage over the past few years left the HR department with a number of growing pains. Managing director Bart Bracke needed a simple system for the registration of wages, with automatic transfer to the payroll agency.

Earlier attempts with other systems had failed to meet the specific requirements of the construction sector.

The construction sector has a great many specific requirements, and it was difficult to find a system that could properly support all of our processes.

The solution

Vuylsteke implemented a system with a black box and a badge reader for automatic time registration.

Vuylsteke chose a new system to record the working hours of its workers. A black box and a badge reader capture those hours automatically and precisely. That rules out undeclared work and other irregularities.

The data the system collects goes straight to the payroll agency, which makes the administration faster and easier. Workers can always be certain that their hours have been recorded correctly.

GeoDynamics also applies all the rules of the Belgian construction sector automatically, including mobility and commuting allowances. That way, the HR department does not have to check the legislation every time, which saves time and makes the work easier.

“Every collective labour agreement provision, and complex items such as the mobility allowance, are recorded perfectly for all of our workers. On top of that, we can see where all of our vehicles are at any moment, and that is an advantage in itself”
