Their story
The company grew from turnkey housing projects to large construction sites, where its experience and scale make the difference.
The roofing company was founded by Lucien Naessens with one clear ambition: to deliver quality and reliability. A major turning point came when turnkey homes grew in popularity. In that period – a few decades ago – as much as 90% of all orders came from that market. That steady flow of work allowed the company to grow, take on extra staff and professionalise its operations.
Today the picture looks very different. Only 10% of orders still come from turnkey projects. The focus is now on larger construction projects, both residential and commercial. That is exactly where the company’s years of experience and economies of scale count most.

The challenge
Recording working hours and CheckinAtWork by hand caused too many errors and too much paperwork, which made a reliable, easy-to-use system essential.
With more and more vehicles on the road, recording working hours quickly became a real challenge. Add the calculation of mobility allowances, and the administrative load rose sharply. Keeping track of all that data by hand also led to a high error rate.
Things became no easier when CheckinAtWork, the mandatory Belgian on-site registration scheme, was introduced in 2014. Checking in everyone correctly – from main contractors to subcontractors – proved almost impossible by hand. And because the NSSO (Belgian social security office) portal was not always reliable in those early days, the need for an easy-to-use, watertight system kept growing.

The solution
Dakgroep Naessens digitised its time registration and CheckinAtWork with the easy-to-use solutions from GeoDynamics.
Dakgroep Naessens has worked with GeoDynamics since 2014. What began as a badge system in the vehicles, for smooth registration of working hours and mobility, grew into a complete digital solution. The company now also uses the Time App, which lets workers start and stop their working day on their smartphone. At the entrance gate, a second badge system handles quick check-in and check-out.
These easy-to-use tools also make CheckinAtWork much faster and more accurate. In the app, site managers see straight away who is present and whether all paperwork is in order.
“Today we already use quite a few GeoDynamics solutions, such as mobility allowance, check-in-at-work and access control.”

“Thanks to the integration between GeoDynamics and Build-Software, our staff are added to GeoDynamics automatically from Build, and the hours worked flow straight back into Build.”
Integration with Build Software
The integration exchanges staff data and working hours automatically between Build Software and GeoDynamics.

Since 2001, Dakgroep Naessens has relied on Build Software to run its business administration. Build Software specialises in digitising business processes in the construction sector. Its modular platform lets companies keep efficient track of project management, cost control, invoicing and job costing, among other things.
Because Dakgroep Naessens also uses GeoDynamics to register working hours and mobility, linking the two systems was a logical step. With this integration, new employees created in Build Software are sent to GeoDynamics automatically. The registered hours then flow back into Build Software for smooth job costing. The final hours can then be forwarded to the payroll provider in one step — with no manual work.
